The Yadkin Valley railroad received red and white geeps in the early 90's. I would assume the ex-N&W GP9's were from NS when this line started, as I don't see the original owners of this shortline being able to afford a large quantity of new ones. Gulf & Ohio assumed control in 1995, and phased out the red and white scheme (although, a few of these in red and white have continued to serve shortlines even today). |
