PRR "A Picture Study Of The K-4," Page 36, 1976 |
Description: |
Here is page 36 of a 40-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "A Picture Study Of The K-4." First issued in October 1967, revised in September 1976. Section Caption: "Some Modifications." Partial Photo Caption: "We note that this engine does not have the familiar KW trailing truck, but that it is equipped with a Delta trailing truck on which is mounted the brake cylinder. Also of interest is the fact that this trailing truck is a booster and the exhaust can be seen coming up behind the stack." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3676, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during April of 1918 and retired in September of 1956 after 38 years of faithful service.
