12.17.1984 Waycross, GA. In scanning this 40 year old negative of SBD 3594, I was curious where in Waycross I was standing when I took the photo. The old ACL YMCA peeking between the locomotives was not a clue today as it is now gone. I looked at Google Maps and was able to match the parking lot and the sidewalk expansion joints in the lower left of the photo. I was standing on the SW corner of Plant Ave. & Alice St., which no longer crosses the tracks. |
