Description:  Here is a beautiful example of a Santa Fe type 2-10-2 locomotive built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1920 as a class T-1-c. Specifics - T-1-c class, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of318,900 lb, tractive effort of 64,516 lb. This beautiful loco was scrapped in 1958. No photographer or date was listed so an arbitrary date was set for this photo. Thanks to Lauren Scrafford (see comment below), the photographer has been identified as noted railroad photographer Colin Menzies.

The white walled wheels and streamlined body casing gives it a modern look. The loco served the CP for twenty years before being disposed in March of 1957. Specs - Serial #1927, F-1a class, 75" drivers, impressive 300 psi boiler pressure, 16.5x28" cylinders, engine weight of 240,000 lb, tractive effort of 25,918 lb. No exact day in January of 1939 was given for this photo and no photographer was listed.

Description:  Here is a very unusual and rare 0-6-0T yard switcher built by the CP New Shops, Montreal, Quebec, in January of 1900. The little plugger lasted for nearly 43 years before being scrapped in August of 1943 with the original number of CP L2. In October of 1930, it was renumbered S.L.3. Specs - 52" drivers, 18x24" cylinders No photographer was listed for the photo. I could not find any information on this loco. Does anyone know its history and dispostion?

Description:  Soo Line passenger engine 553 waits at Winnipeg for the return trip to Minneapolis/ St Paul! The Soo Line was really the Canadian Pacific in the USA, just as the Great Northern and the Northern Pacific jointly owned the Burlington which gave them a route to Chicago! On the Great Northern the overnight train between St Paul/ Minneapolis and Winnipeg was called "the Winnipeg Limited" and on the Soo Line it was called "the Winnipeger". On the "GN" the distance was 457 miles.
